Subaru has never been a company to play to the mainstream audience. From flat four engines to all wheel drive and ads featuring crazed engineers, Subaru could be considered the automaker with the most creativity. In preparation for the upcoming Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, the marketing folks at Subaru Canada have paired up with the artist community, deviantART to get some creative interpretations of their new tag line; Driving Confidence.
In a contest that ran for three weeks, artists were asked to submit their interpretation of Confidence in Motion for a chance at $4,000 in cash prizes. The entries will be judged by a panel of Subaru executives.
The top submissions will be on display at the Toronto Auto Show, in an installation that Subaru says is a unique, space-defying gallery. Like Subaru's unique ad campaigns, the art is far from what one might expect. Sure, there are some stunning rally scenes, but there are a couple of abstract ones that are, well, abstract. Check out our gallery of the top submissions.
