The results are in and the numbers confirm what anyone who visited the Toronto Auto Show already knew: The annual show in Canada's biggest city was beyond busy! In fact, the 2012 show set a new record for attendance.
Over the ten day run of the Canadian International Auto Show, a total of 316,751 people went through the turnstiles. The previous record of 310,174 was set in 2004.
General Manager of the Toronto show, Tom Tonks summarized, "These record numbers are an indication of a positive market reaction toward the numerous new and high tech products being offered by every manufacturer."
The popularity of this year's show stands in contrast to the 2011 total of just 303,718. The general feeling is that the increased traffic reflects the strength of the auto industry in Canada. Tonks also believes that this milestone will translate into increased traffic in new car showrooms.
