HGTV Million Dollar Rooms garage

There's nothing at all wrong with spending a large sum of money on a nice garage. After all, you need a good, safe place to keep your two- and four-wheeled belongings, right? And, assuming you've got the disposable income and lots of toys, we suppose even a multi-million dollar garage is within the boundaries of acceptability... even if that's 20 times the average cost of a new house.

Hit the jump and you'll find a video from HGTV's Million Dollar Rooms program, hosted by Carter Oosterhouse, in which a US$6 million garage is featured in all its glory. The first portion of the garage is pretty nice, housing a large collection of (sigh... mostly unridden) motorcycles, but that's not what makes this garagemahal stand out from the crowd.

That would be the massive hydraulic elevator used to access the garage's lower portion. We'll let you all decide whether or not this garage is worth its cost, or whether or not it's filled with a properly exotic batch of vehicles. All you gotta do is watch the video below, then let us know what you think in the Comments.

What's the point of having all that and not driving any of them?

All that money invested and he still fell flat.

“Chicks dig it” that he has a fleet of anniversary edition Harleys? What a poser. I understand preserving a cherished model to roll out years from now as ‘original’ and with no miles, but just buying all the models – and leaving the tags on them - is a guy treating Harleys like Beanie Babies. There are better investments.

Aside from the motor home and maybe the Land Rover, the cars parked downstairs were ordinary everyday autos. It’s amazing that someone would invest in such a secure place to store cars, but you would think for all the trouble that he would have some real rarities or classics down there.

So you can fit the motor home, but now you need to get it out. Backing it onto the elevator is not nearly as cool as the idea of equipping the room with a turntable so you can drive it out forward. Fail.

He gets a bunch of demerits for the sterility of the place. Geez, ever hear of putting some color on the walls, and maybe some automotive art down there?

It's totally equipped for collecting, but the collection is nothing but current store-bought baubles. A tool with too much money and such a limited dream. (sigh...)

Argh! Several things.

First, gold utensils are called "gold flatware". "Silverware" is actually made of silver.

Also, a "chateau" is not a house (that's a maison), it's a castle... and d'or is pronounced "door". If you're going to show it off and/or sell it, at least know what it means and how it's pronounced.

Carter and Sally sound a little like Jethro and Ellie Mae in this video. If you're going to make a show about decadence, please make an attempt to assimilate into that level of opulence.
