Speeding Nissan GT-R causes explosive crash with BYD electric Taxi [w/video]

Many are questioning the safety of electric vehicles after this explosive crash in China sent a BYD Taxi bursting into fatal flames. According to the South China Morning Post, eyewitness taxi drivers spotted a red Nissan GT-R speeding between 150 to 200km/h just moments before it crashed into a BYD E6 Electric Taxi to cause the gigantic explosion caught on camera!

Early reports suggest the driver of a speeding Nissan GT-R had been seen drinking at local hot spot Lili Marleen prior to the dramatic crash taking place. Upon impact, the BYD Taxi suddenly burst into flames killing all three people inside, as the driver of the GT-R and his 3 female companions fled the scene (only to turn himself in a day later).

Right now according to the SCMP there are supposed to be 300 BYD E6 Electric Taxis on the road and this number is supposed to double within this year. Shenzhen also has 200 electric buses on the road which receive a subsidy from the central and Shenzhen government of 1 million RMB per bus.
