Real talk? We are still laughing at this satirical view of new Hybrid technology well after a dozen views. The Onion put together this comical report on how to save the planet at the expense of Toyota and their funky little Hybrid, the Prius C. The script, the banners and the detailed animations had us LMFAO'ing all morning.
While we think the Prius C is an amazing little piece of technology for the price, the Eco Spike technology here certainly takes saving the planet to a whole other level. The "technology" proposed here in this fake news cast, targets not only the driver but everyone in the car by opting out of being on the planet at all, reducing their carbon footprint to absolutely zero. Problem solved right? Well, the only flaw here is that you won't be around to reap all the benefits of a greener earth.
We're sure Toyota's lawyers don't even know where to start with this one. But The Onion is no stranger to pushing boundaries and well, hopefully everyone gets a chuckle out of it. After all, the frenzy to go Green is getting a little out of control, no? It's as if automobiles are the poster child for a much wider scope of our addiction to petroleum products... plastics anyone?
Click past the jump for the hilarious video and if we do get the invite to the press launch, we'll be sure to let the typically overzealous journalists rush to get in the car first.
