Red Bull F1 car makes appearance at Infiniti dealers across Canada

There is never a shortage of PR stunts done by car dealers to attract the crowds onto their lots. Free hotdogs, giant blow up Gorillas and even petting zoos to haul in cranky children whose parents are then pounced on by salesmen as soon as they step out of the minivan. But sometimes there are sweet promotions like the one Infiniti has put together here with Sebastian Vettel's former Red Bull Racing F1 race car.
Why Infiniti dealers? Well, as we reported many months ago, Infiniti is the official partner of the Red Bull Racing team. No they don't make the engines Renault does that, but Renault controls Nissan who has a division called Infiniti and such is the circle of automotive life. The car you see here is apparently a former competition chassis with current Vettel RB8 markings although his name appears next to Mark Webber near the cockpit. The Renault RC27 motor, an 18,000 rpm screaming V8 has been removed so it doesn't slip into the wrong hands. Of course, some electronics and top secret elements have been removed for the public too but from the outside, it definitely is the real deal.
The car is currently on display at Infiniti Downtown in Toronto today and tomorrow but is headed to Windsor next and selected Infiniti dealers across Canada. We got a chance to snap a load of pics in our gallery but you should probably find out when it is in the showroom and see it for yourself because are simply not enough to get the whole experience. The Infiniti Red Bull Racing Show Car Tour will make an extended stop in Montréal for the 2012 Formula 1™ Grand Prix du Canada, visiting each of our local dealers and will be on display at an Infiniti F1 kick-off event on Thursday, June 7th.

The tour also offers a chance to win passes to the Formula 1™race in the United States which takes place November 16-18. Each tour stop event will be equipped with iPads so guests of the dealership can enter to win an all-inclusive trip to the Formula 1™race in Austin, Texas, and be entered for a local draw to win a pair of framed and mounted racing gloves signed by 2011 Formula 1™ World Champion, Sebastian Vettel.
