Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford's new Cadillac critics told to "go to hell"

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford never stops with his improv entertainment. If he isn't chasing reporters off his property with fists cocked, he is slamming bike lanes and public transit plans with unusual insults. Well, his most recent gaff involves a brand new Cadillac Escalade, the big boy finished in 'carbon-footprint black' of course. Seems critics are taking issue with such an excessive purchase, one that burns lots of dino-juice when the city is supposedly bent on going green.
Ford initially told the Toronto Sun, that he had purchased the vehicle. "I saved a lot of money for this." He told the paper last Thursday referring to the $85,260 MSRP of the SUV.
However, the story has since changed and now the Ford camp are saying it wasn't the Mayor who bought the land yacht. The Cadillac flagship was purchased as a 43rd birthday gift by his brothers, Doug and Randy to replace his aging minivan. "It was worn out. The thing is shaking. The guy had it for years. I wouldn't even ride in it." Doug was reported as saying.
However, the Toronto Star took issue with the outlandish purchase. They pointed out that the Ford family is very wealthy and that as 1-percenters they couldn't have him driving around in any regular car. The reporter said that it would be misguided for Mayor Ford to act as "Mr. Everyman" when they are so wealthy.
Well, Doug Ford fired back defending the purchase. "They made a big deal of it, big deal. Blame me. Get the [Toronto] Star to blame me. I bought it, that's not Rob and it is as simple as that. We bought it out of our own money."
"The Toronto Star can go to hell and you can quote me on that." he said of the original article.
