Jaguar wants us all to know that it is hard at work on the new F-Type. Engineers have been busily wringing the convertible out over a test course ahead of its debut at this year's Paris Motor Show. We know that the new convertible will be offered with a pair of supercharged power plants, in both 3.0-litre V6 and 5.0-litre V8 variants. The six-cylinder should be good for up to 375 horsepower, though the video below promises appropriate power to weight and torque to weight ratios.
The company seems focused on serving up a rigid chassis stitched from lightweight components, too. Those are all wins in our book. An eight-speed automatic transmission will likely handle shifting duties, and Jaguar has hinted that a hardtop version of the sports car will make its way to production as well.
