While violence erupting at a mainstream auto show is
The Monster Energy DUB Show Tour has been a staple in the urban car scene for years and their most recent stop was this past Sunday at the Los Angeles Convention Center. We've attended several LA Auto Show's there along with many custom car shows and because it's in downtown Los Angeles, it isn't uncommon to attract attendees with possible gang affiliations who are car enthusiasts too. For the most part, nothing happens at these shows because of the heavy police presence and most fans are there to relax and take part in a common interest -- custom cars. However, the DUB Show LA was marred by gun violence outside the venue where security and LAPD arrived on the scene immediately.
Eye witnesses saw a brawl break out in the loading dock area of the Convention Center that quickly escalated. From there some poor camera skills and lack of play-by-play make it difficult to determine exactly what happened next. While some of the language is NSFW, we gather from the commentary that the suspects leaving the scene in the Mercedes S500 are not the shooters. However, they were the first to exit the area, so they may provide police with useful evidence in what likely will be an attempted murder charge as no one was injured or killed.
EDIT: We have heard reports that the incident involved two rival rap crews. According to one blog, the brawl actually started inside the LA Convention Center between the crew of rapper, The G.A.M.E. and the YG Crew. One of The G.A.M.E's friends, Compton Menace reportedly started a fight with YG's crew while he was performing onstage. Security and the police directed everyone outside while the performers tried to settle the crowd down. The brawl spilled out into the parking lot and then shots were fired.
Check out the dramatic video after the break.
