Drunk rapper Jew'elz Tweets #YOLO, then dies in car accident

Posted Sep 13th 2012 1:30PM

"That's the motto... YOLO" or so Toronto rapper Drake says in his track Motto. The now famous acronym for "You Only Live Once" has become part of daily vocabulary and for one California-based rapper, was apparently some of his last words just before a fatal drunk driving accident.

Ervin McKinness (a.k.a Jew'elz pictures above on left) was an aspiring rapper from the Ontario, California area just outside Los Angeles. He was apparently making random Tweets on his phone about drunk driving, while allegedly driving. He made two visit ominous tweets just prior to the accident of the 2005 Nissan Sentra he was in:
At approximately 1:40 am, the vehicle ran a red light, lost control and hit a wall. The Sentra ended up in the backyard of an area resident where McKinness and three other occupants died at the scene, one died later in hospital. Also killed were Marquell Bogan, 23 and Dylan George, 20, both of Ontario as well as, Jonathan Watson, 21, of San Bernardino; and JaJuan Bennett, 23, of Rancho Cucamonga.

Although the Tweets point to McKinness as the driver, police are investigating claims that Watson who was the driver. "They're certainly looking at that because it will be a vital part of the investigation, but it's too early to give an opinion as to whether it (drunken driving) was a cause or contributed to the crash," said Ontario police Sgt. David McBride.

First mistake driving a sentra.... second mistake thinking it can drift, thirdly being poor and black your whole life and once liquar and little money are involved you start believing the sentra is a ferrari. Lastly, not giving a $@%# about someone (including the friends that were killed) or yourself. "Fate is something that we have no control over." Think about the movie, "The Butterfly Effect" one mess in the chain can lead someone astray and completely impact pain on the one's who aren't to blame. Its time to pray for their families.

What was he suppose to be "tweeting" about drunk driving...? What did he (apparently) say..? This story tells us NOTHING other then he's dead in a crash.
Who was there to see the light was red at 1:40 in the morning..? All the details aren't out and only those in the accident know (if anyone even seen a red light in either direction). I'll reserve judgment on being happy that anybody is dead thanks.
The Police haven't even determined if (drunk driving) contributed to the crash and they don't even know for sure who was driving the car. Nobody likely seen anybody run a red light, it likely happened in a flash like most accidents and people heard the bang in their back yard.
