Quirky Car Collection goes up for Auction

It can take a lifetime of dedication, passion and some big bucks to build a large car collection, yet it took just one weekend to sell it all at auction... with no reserve! Sadly, the time had come for Dr. Terry Bennett to part with his vast and odd collection of automobiles known as The Bennett Collection.

The 20 hatchbacks pictured above are only a small sample of his complete set, as Bennett had a real soft-spot (like us) for oddities including Nissan Pulsar GT1-R's, VW GTI's and Audi Coupe Quattros. Although many of these cars were far from flawless Barrett-Jackson auction condition, there were more than a few restoration ready gems hiding in this automotive goldmine.

We're not sure if the decision to sell was fueled by some sort of hoarding 'intervention' or if the good doctor simply wanted to top off his retirement fund, but either way Bennett still managed to build an impressive roster of some very cool cars.

This collection includes an unusual mix of projects, classics and imports from almost every genre, make and model. From a Lamborghini stored under a tarp to a rare Mazda 323 GTX, he literally collected them all! It's still hard to believe all these vehicles belonged to just one man!
