For those of you looking to sell or trade in your current car, the reality of resale value can be either a pleasant surprise or a cold wake-up call. Residual values of what a car is worth a few years down the road can certainly make one vehicle much more appealing than another.

Determining the future value of your used car is often based on a mix of historical performance data, industry trends, supply versus demand and most importantly the strength or desirability of its brand.

As luck would have it, the experts at ALG recently announced their list of premium brand rankings with the best automotive resale value. The list is based on each brand's projected ability to hold onto the highest percentage of their original MSRP after three years time.
