We've seen some pretty impressive hardware come up for sale on eBay Motors in recent months, but this Ferrari easily tops them all. One of only 29 FXXs ever built by the Maranello powerhouse, and supposedly only one of 17 Enzo-based to be equipped with the Evoluzione options, this track-only beast is the ultimate prize for Ferrari's "because I can" clientele.
The full EVO upgrade added an easy US$300,000 to the car's already astronomical price tag. For that added cost power was increased accordingly from 789 to 860 hp at an ear-shattering 9,500 rpm. Shift times were dropped to an incredible 60 milliseconds, and thanks to some trick aerodynamics overall downforce on the car saw an increase of roughly 25 per cent.
The fascinating part about FXX ownership has to be Ferrari's commitment to their customer racing programs. Through Ferrari's Corse Clienti, all FXX and 599XX owners have an open invitation to race their Italian stallions around the world. Last year's program ran 8 races including the legendary circuits of Monza, Silverstone and Spa Francorchamps.
The insane machine pictured above was found listed on Ebay over the Christmas holidays but has since disappeared. It is unclear whether the car actually sold, or if the listing was simply taken down due to what would have likely been a lengthy parade of email inquiries from window shoppers without the means to pull the trigger. The listing showed the car to be in brand new condition with a BUY IT NOW price of US$2.6 million in West Hollywood, California. We have to admit, we're a tad surprised it wasn't carted out for the Monterey auctions, however with a car like this it won't be long before word gets around and another mysterious individual swoops in to add it to his (or her) collection.
