Well it seems there is no shortage of jokers with cars (or bikes) and video cameras in British Columbia as of late. This oh-so wise BMW driver decided to film themselves speeding down Highway 1 outside of Vancouver, likely somewhere between Langley and Chiliwack, BC. Clearly this genius didn't get the hint when a Yamaha R1 was seized after the owner's excessive speeding video made the rounds on YouTube last summer.
Filming yourself doing something stupid is one thing, but it's just depressing to see someone going to such lengths as to broadcast something that's not only super dangerous and illegal but at the same time also mind-numbingly boring to watch. Great job Captain BMW, your early '90s 535i can just barely crawl its way up to 230 km/h on a dead flat stretch of dry highway - one of our editors just went faster in a 4-banger wagon on snows!
It simply makes us wonder if the driver filmed it because he'd already told all his friends it could go that fast and no one believed him. One way or another we can only hope the BC RCMP gets wind of this and gives this driver the proper legal slapping he so greatly deserves. I mean, he doesn't even have two hands on the wheel in this self-made video.
Click past the jump to see the video, which just might get this old E34 BMW impounded for good.
