Kid rides snowmobile to Durham College on the streets of Oshawa

Posted Feb 11th 2013 7:30PM

Every winter, Canadian students keep their fingers crossed in hopes of a storm big enough to declare an official "snow day." Oddly enough, the bus cancellations and school closures due to the snowmageddon storm hitting Ontario last week couldn't keep this creative college kid (and his trusty snowmobile and GoPro) away from attending classes at Durham College in Oshawa, ON.

The surprising sight saw plenty of stares from other drivers and likely led to a increase in his popularity at school once it hit YouTube, although we'll admit this is still a dangerous, unrecommended and illegal stunt to pull on public roads.

Regardless, we think this gutsy College student does deserve some extra credit for his impressive problem solving abilities, as the slippery streets and cold weather in Oshawa were simply no match for his snowmobile and weather-appropriate attitude.

I didn't realize this was illegal. Go anywhere north of Barrie and you will see snowmobiles on the roads everywhere.

What\'s so abnormal about that? He stayed on the side of the road for the most part. That\'s the way it\'s done in Canada. Durham is out in the country, I wouldn\'t say do it in a big city but it is leagl where he lives.. When I was younger everyone did this, even to go shopping, when the road where bad. Good for him for being Canadian.
