2014 Ford Fiesta ST looks like one hot hatch at Toronto Auto Show

2014 Fiesta ST packs a big punch in a little package, as its 1.6-litre EcoBoost four cylinder engine produces an impressive 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque and exclusively available with a six-speed manual transmission.
Based on what we've learned so far, Ford's Fiesta ST seems to have all the right moves to take on established competitors such as the Fiat Abarth and Mini Cooper S. The Ford Fiesta ST also features a 6.5-inch MyFord Touch screen, unique ST high-mounted rear spoiler, interior trim accents, leather shift knob and seats to help set it apart from its non-ST Fiesta brethren.

Brakes are upgraded to discs at the rear and the front discs have been upgraded to 277 mm (10.9 inches) versus the base car's 259 mm (10.2-inch) discs; new performance pads bite down on all four discs.
Suspension has been revised: the ST gets a 75 per cent stiffer torsion-beam rear to tighten up the ride. To enhance the look and performance the Fiesta ST also sits 15 mm (0.6 inch) lower to the ground while rolling on handsome sport wheels.
To give the car quicker reflexes the steering ratio has been quickened to 13.6:1 from the regular Fiesta's 14.3:1 ratio.
