The loss of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas in a car crash over the weekend has loved ones and fans still in mourning and or shock. With unanswered questions as to what caused the crash and tributes to the star from fans and friends alike, we'd like to share something that we're sure Walker would want the world to see... his cars!
Paul Walker was perhaps most famous for playing the role of Brian O'Connor in the much loved/hated but undeniably entertaining, if you're a car fan or not, Fast and Furious series. What wasn't widely known to most is that he was a genuine car and motorsports enthusiast. His car hobby/passion started after he filmed the first Fast and Furious movie. Walker eventually ended up owning several cars used in his films, including a pretty bad-ass Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. He also known to attend track days with his toys and was even on the roster as a driver for Roger Rodas' race team.
Walker, aside from being a bonafide car guy, philanthropist, father, entertainer, all round good dude and a very close friend to the many he worked with - also had a very impressive and well-rounded personal garage housing an impressive car collection. Anything from rare classic American Muscle, to niche JDM and European sportscars - all tasteful and desirable collector cars.
Click here to take a tour of Walker's personal garage in the photo gallery above, as it features highlights including a Ford GT, Porsche Carrera GT (the same car he and Rodas perished in), Nissan Skyline R32 and R34 GT-Rs, a classic BMW M1 and more. Also be sure to check out the video below of Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire touring the same garage back in 2011, for a closer look at the stunning cars belonging to both Paul Walker and Roger Rodas. We can spy some awesome Ford fox body Mustangs in the background, check out the video for more info on those beauties.
Although none of us at Autoblog Canada knew Walker (or Rodas) personally, we will certainly feel the loss and will always remember Walker fondly. Condolences go out to all affected. Vin Diesel put it perfectly in a recent Instagram post - "Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace."
