0Confirmed: Guy Fieri to drive Corvette ZR1 pace car in Indy 500 1337191200
Diners, Drive-ins and Dives TV persona Guy Fieri is making more news with garages these days than kitchens. The Food Network host, who recently had his Lamborghini Gallardo stolen and then recovered in a teen's storage container, has been selected to drive the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 pace car at the Indy 500 this year. Guy's an admitted gear head, ...

Study: Nit-picking Kelley Blue Book 1337086800
A natural extension of being a tech journalist is being a stats geek. As it turns out, nothing makes a stats geek happier than finding something wrong with someone Else's numbers. Especially when that someone is Kelley Blue Book (KBB), a cornucopia of car statistics ranging from range to resale value. Now, we love KBB - lots of great information, insight ...

Official: Chevrolet Trax crossover headed to Paris, but not North America? 1337023800
If you're wondering why the name Trax sounds familiar, it's because we've heard it before. That's right, General Motors' chunky little crossover concept has blossomed into the production CUV you see here, and might we say, it's quite a handsome little thing. Details about the new Chevy Trax are scarce, but since it looks to be based on the same ...

While the investigation of the Fisker Karma that toasted a Texas garage is not over, pundits have begun to weigh in. Automotive News has found a particularly credible one in Jon Bereisa, CEO of Auto Lectrification and the chief engineer of the General Motors EV1 and systems architect for the Chevrolet Volt. And according to Bereisa, the poor packaging of ...

Study: "Camaros eat Mustangs:" The origins of car names 1336584600
As a car manufacturer, you have spent literally thousands of person-hours engineering a vehicle that is not quite entirely dreamy nor utterly practical, but some magical balance of the two that should sell by the trainload. Small problem: the folks in marketing have decided to name the car the "Acquiesce," so chosen for its inability to offend anybody and ...

Report: GM's next-gen pickup plans force dealers into one of two camps 1336478400
Most General Motors dealers make their living off selling pickup trucks. (That's why when it came time to trim the brands and reorganize under bankruptcy, GMC survived and Pontiac didn't – because Buick dealers needed to have a truck to sell, not a full-size muscle sedan from Australia.) That makes this year a tricky one for dealers, according to ...

Video: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 runs quarter mile in 11.93 seconds 1336158900
We've taken the bone-stock 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 down the quarter-mile drag strip at Bondurant in Arizona several times. The very first pass we made netted us a time slip in the mid-12-second range. That's an impressive performance for a car wearing road-legal radial tires with zero preparation and a driver familiarizing himself with the car. We ...

The General wants more rear-wheel drive vehicles in its lineup and has plans to bring a few more to the North American market, including a sedan, possibly a wagon and sport utility, according to Car and Driver.
