Video: What kind of baboons would do this to a Hyundai i30 hatchback? 1336694340
Baboons are curious creatures. And, thanks to their opposable thumbs, they are rather excellent at satiating that curiosity, no matter what impediments stand in their way. With such a small take rate, Hyundai saw no reason to continue offering the six-speed manual in the base GLS model. ...

As a car manufacturer, you have spent literally thousands of person-hours engineering a vehicle that is not quite entirely dreamy nor utterly practical, but some magical balance of the two that should sell by the trainload. Small problem: the folks in marketing have decided to name the car the "Acquiesce," so chosen for its inability to offend anybody and ...

Official: Kia K9 launches in Korea, export model to get new name 1335985140
We so wanted to lead this post with a Jim Belushi joke. Alas, the Kia press release announcing the launch of its rear-drive flagship in Korea today specifically clarifies that the K9 will be renamed for other markets. While Kia says the large sedan rides on "its own platform," we know enough about the auto industry to posit that much of that platform is ...

Poll: Could the Hyundai Veloster go topless? [w/poll] 1334964600
The Hyundai Veloster has been a bit polarizing since it went on sale last year. And the debate could get more animated if the Korean company does what we think it's thinking about doing. At a recent gathering of reporters and Hyundai executives in Ann Arbor, MI, where the annual Rolling Sculpture Car Show takes place every summer, we asked Hyundai Motors ...
